That's a question writers get from time-to-time. Here is part of my answer.
Some years ago I thought up (for better or worse!) an initiative that would build a literary Trans-Canada trail, so that Canadians and visitors could read their way across our country. That idea is now a charity called Project Bookmark Canada. We've just been through a month-long fundraising effort called The Page Turner campaign that brought in lots of support and recognition for our vision. Yesterday, I was delighted that even more people will hear about Project Bookmark Canada through an article that ran in The Globe & Mail. Because of my work with Project Bookmark Canada, I've been nominated as a "Globe Catalyst."
So, that's part of what I've been up to.
