I love a good chat with a friendly conversationalist, and so I had a very good time doing this interview with Julie Wilson. Julie is the author of Seen Reading and a commentator on all things booky, who is sometimes known as The Book Madam. She also has a big role in the great Canadian book site the 49th Shelf. In mid September, Julie and I met at the Random House offices in Toronto to talk about Sleeping Funny, building a story collection, writers and performing, and about the relief of knowing that your agent and editor have your back. Warning: you might not want to play it at full volume, as my kids tell me I have the world’s loudest laugh--and I do a lot of laughing in this interview. Have a listen.
